What is preputioplasty?
Preputioplasty is a surgical procedure performed to widen a tight foreskin (phimosis). Circumcision is widely done for tight penile foreskin. When one wishes to retain the foreskin preputioplasty is done. Circumcision removes the foreskin while preputioplasty releases the tight band on the foreskin.
How Preputioplasty is Performed?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic. Incisions are made in the foreskin to release the constricting ring of tissue. These are then closed and stitched to increase the girth of the foreskin so that it can be become fully and easily retracted. Preputioplasty Procedural Steps
