Sexual problems-erection and other sexual disorder
It is difficult to define premature ejaculation(PE or PME).Premature ejaclation is release of semen before the desired time of sexual activity giving rise to “patient distress or interpersonal difficulty’,(DSM IV).
The International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM)
reviewed the current medical literature and arrive at a functional definition for lifelong PE(2007)
A panelof expert defined PE as having three components:
(1) ejaculation that always or nearly always occurs before or within about 1 minute of vaginal penetration,
(2) the inability to delay ejaculation on all or nearly all vaginal penetrations, and
(3) negative personal consequences such as distress, bother, frustration, and/or the avoidance of sexual intimacy.
Waldinger (2007)categorize PE into four subtypes:
Lifelong:never been able to control or delay ejaculation
Acquired:was able to control or delay ejaculation in past but unable to do so now
natural variable PE:Sometimes unable to control or delay ejaculation but most of the times normal
premature-like ejaculatory dysfunction:other disorders are causing PE/PME
The self-reported time taken for an average man to ejaculate varied greatly from 7 to 14 minutes
You will asked about your medical history and a physical examination done.Treatment includes behaviral therapy and oral medication.
LOSS OF SEXUAL DESIRE/LOSS OF LEBIDO:
No sexual desire/ interest or hypoactive sexual desire disorder(HSDD) is a very common sexual dysfuntion in both male and female.Females are twice more likely to suffer fron it than men, however it is more distressful for male patients. It may be caused by physical, medical, psychological to social problems.
POOR FIRMNESS OF PENIS:
A sufficently regid penis is needed for penetrative sexual activity.Poor firmness of penis further medical evaluation .
INABILITY TO MAINTAINE FIRMNESS OF PENIS:
The penis is hard for a short duration. Before vaginal penetration or soon after vaginal penetration it becomes soft and flacid
CONCERNS ABOUT SIZE AND THICKNESS OF PENIS:
The size and thickness of penis is highly variable.Race is an important factor determining the size and thickness of male endowment.
SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DISEASES:
Sexually transmitted diseases spread from a infected partner to another during sexual activity . People at high risk of contracting STIs are young adults between
the ages of 18 and 28.
The most common STIs are gonorrhea, herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, chlamydial urethritis/cervicitis, lymphogranuloma venereum, syphilis, chancroid, trichomoniasis, human papilloma virus(HPV) infection, and scabies.
Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
The becomes clinically evident( incubation period ) from 3 to 14 days of unprotected exposure to a partner who is infected.Male usually present with pus discharge from penis, female are usually asymptomatic.
